The Racquet Tailed Roller

Just finished this one from a bunch I had been looking over. I really loved the pose this little guy struck for me and the wonderful scenery behind. Not quite as dramatic as some of the others in the series, but I though it added a little something more typical of a nature shot while keeping it in form to fit with the rest.

Wow Gary! Your bird captures are fantastic. I can't wait to see them all together. Will you publish?

Awesome shot! I assume this one wasn't hanging around Brooklyn.

Very cool. I love the bright turquoise on the bird's front with some black as a contrasting color seen at the tail-end and the beak. Nature is amazing.
The faded background looks awesome.

Where did you take this shot?

Thank Julie, I never thought of putting them together in a book, probably because I do not have quite enough yet. I would like to build up the collection and that is something i would consider.
Jill, nope not hanging around Brooklyn, but not too far away either. :)
Anusha, yep nature is amazing. i love the colorings on this one a lot. Most all of my bird photos have been taken in the "world of Birds" exhibit at the Bronx Zoo.
The habitatas they have set up for these birds are quite incredible and the frosted paneles on the ceilings let in a perfectly wonderful diffused lighting that looks as though the birds are sitting in a photographers studio, as a friend of mine once commented.
The problem is though the lighting is fairly low and one cannot bring a tripod inside. Another problem is the birds do not sit where i tell them too. . . .

You must have endless patience to keep capturing these beautiful birds! This is a great shot - I love how diffused the leaves look in the background.

It's a great shot. It is a true TTV or a digitally created one?
Peace, Judi

Hi Judi, all my ttv images are given that aesthetic in post processing.
I like getting the advantages of the latest technology and then bringing in the charming old style look and feel later on.
thanks for commenting.
