A Brooklyn Tale. . .

A Brooklyn landscape

While venturing through the lovely and seemingly tranquil Salt Marsh Nature preserve a little while back, I had the good fortune to be presented with this lovely commentary and so of course I immdediately thought to share my good fortune with my blogging community.

And so here is the story of Fitz, brought to us on a stone tablet to be remembered and revered until the end of days. . .

Did you kick me off your follow list? I had to rejoin your fan club mister. You can't get rid of me that easy.

I cracked up with this. Only you can make something that would normally be irritating graffiti to the level of fine art.

Fitz probably doesn't even have a sister.

Cool shot.

Who names their kid Fitz?! Wonder what his sister's name is (if he has one). Do they walk by there everyday and see that sign? What did he do to make this guy angry enough to write this... Only such an interesting photo gets the viewer so involved! Great image!

Priceless shot. O-Zone's comment made me giggle.

Yep, our neighbor has a copter pad, so you can land there and walk over. ;^)

A great juxtaposition of the honourable beauty of what is, with the dishonourable desecration of what is . . . Imagine if we all wrote on the rocks - it would be like billboards down a highway.

What a damaging piece of graffiti for the poor guy.

Then again, if the shoe Fitz...

Sheila, no way would I kick you off! I was wondering where you had been. Glad you can get a good chuckle of this one.

Mark, thanks for dropping in. Looking forward to seeing the 2nd part of the shot from your last post

O-Zone, lol, I agree he may not even have a sister.

Daily Connoisseur, he would disgust me too if its true, but what does that say about his sister. . .

Tonya, there are lots of Irish in this area and I'm thinkin it could be short for Fitzpatrick. This could just be a kid that gets picked on by his friends. These kids do dumb things at times.

Willow, fantastic I'll get the chopper readied and washed up nice. :)

Bonnie, I'm glad we don't have to see it all over town, but there was a time in the 70's when it practically was.

Hilary, lol that is very good. You do love wordplay and there ya go! Damaging for his poor sister too

Julie, NY art galleries do love these type of local and controverial pieces. . .thanks for stopping by.

Oh my gosh here I was enjoying the captivating beauty of earth and sky and then Fitz entered the scene...Hilarious! A paradox in photo if ever there was one!

Forget Fritz for a while and come to the Manor Ball!

I thought you were at Willow's ball I guess you were there to do the photographs. Sorry I missed you there, but you have some portfolio.

Too bad the words his sister wanted didn't get included: "of house and home."

Perhaps it was a "Burma Shave" moment? Did you happen to look further down the path?

;^P

i just came across your blog via t.e.a. photography, and i have really enjoyed scrolling through and seeing your photos. i especially like what you wrote in your "about me" profile. although i am just an amateur photographer, i also share that same philosophy about why you take pictures.

glad i discovered your blog. i'm going to send the link to my blog friend who also lives in new york and is a photographer. she loves to take pictures of brooklyn and all of new york city. i think she would be inspired by your blog and photography as well.
