The French Cleaners

This one always seems to crack me up. This place is actually not too far from my home in Brooklyn. Still looks the same and still making a living. Fortunatley for them this is the back side of the establishment. . . .but still. Maybe its the free pick up and delivery that helps as customers do not have to come by and have a look (Click on the image for a better look)

Hey the awning looks great. You'd think the graffiti artists could have at least painted something in French...sheesh...heathens.

Too funny! The sign is great above the graffiti.

What a great juxtaposition of elements. I wonder... do you think they'd clean Italians, too?

:)))) That's funny!!! As you said, it might be the pick up and delivery that makes them work!

Actually the owners of this place are Chinese and really nice people. They saw me photographing this at the time and were very concerned that i was reporting them or something and when I explained that i just thought it was funny and will rub out the numbers of the store they smiled and realized too that it appeared amusing. They then explained their frustration at having tried to clean up the graffitti but the local kids kept writing on it at night. They got tired of the time and expense of trying to clean it over and over again. I certainly understand.

That would be incredibly frustrating for them. Too bad they can't get some more artistic taggers to come their way. :-)

I love this!!! VERY arty. (Whenever I go on vacation I come back mostly with photos of grafitti and signs. Must be the former signpainter in me.)

Around my neighborhood, businesses sometimes hire grafitti artists to spray murals on the walls... usually these are respected enough that they don't get retagged.
