This photograph was taken from the Redhook, Brooklyn waterfront. I love the ominous looking cloud cover over the lone sailboat with the cranes and touches of industrial menace lurking on the shores in the distance. It is one of my all-time favorites of mine and possibly so because it is one of those images that just print very nicely.Some dodging and burning was done and also initially a conversion to grayscale with some sepia tones brought back in for the aged look, that I feel works well with this scene.

Beautiful image and very well done Gary. Reminds me a print that a friend of mine hangs on his wall and that i love to watch.
I so love your land/seascapes Gary. They have such depth, I get lost in them and all my troubles seem so far away.
Love it! I wouldn't have guessed that those shapes in the background were cranes. they have interesting, soaring, sail shapes, too. So this is 35 mm that you developed in the darkroom? Or are you digital dodging and burning?

Wow! I just got back from the coast and this is taking me right back! The detail in this seems incredible for an image taken from a distance. Very rich - I love it!
